Researchers from Imperial College London analyzed and compared the body index of 20 million adults in 186 countries born between 1975 to 2014. The study results were worrying: the number of obese men is three times as high as 40 years ago and twice as much for women. In other words, there are currently 266 million obese men and 375 million obese women in the world, accounting for about 10% of the world's total population. China and the United States have the largest number of obese people in the world. The size of the US plus-size clothing market is estimated to be about 20 billion US dollars, and the plus-size clothing market is growing by 17% every year, while the growth of standard size clothing is only 7%. E-commerce giants such as Walmart and Amazon have stepped into this market.

The plus-size sweater's breast width is more than 20cm wider than normal, and it can only be produced by lengthening the knitting machine.
